Sunset Hotel

I highly recommend this place. We stayed here for two nights, with breakfast and dinner included. Both nights we had amazing dinner. The was A LOT of good food! Breakfast was buffet style and options were plenty. The staff were really friendly and helpful. Rooms were had were a bit small and old but still great value for its low price. The hotel is within 3 minutes walk from the Petra visitor center and has lots of restaurants and grocery stores nearby.

Staying at Sunset Hotel in Petra was a delightful experience. The staff provided exceptional service, and I was impressed by the warm hospitality throughout my visit. I loved the delicious dinner and breakfast, and the hotel’s proximity to the Petra Tourist Office and local restaurants and shops was a huge plus. Kudos to Mohamed at reception and the manager for their amazing support.

The staffs are friendly, approaching and accommodating our needs. The hotel has great location where the restaurants, shops are nearby and walking distance 3 mins to Petra gate. The room is simple and with a view. It satisfies as a budget choice. Recommend it.

Great hotel 2 min walk to entrance (this is key cause you don’t wanna walk up the massive hill into town after walking around Petra all day). Breakfast included which was good. They do lunch packs for 7JOD which we shared between 2 and it was fine. Room was awesome and had fridge as well.

Excellent location (5min walk from visitor center), staff extremely friendly and helpful. Breakfast was delicious. Room was very clean.

A very nice hotel, clean, very friendly and helpful staff. It’s not very luxurious, but it has all that is needed: fine room, good beds, working airco, very clean bathroom. Buffet dinner average, but very cheap (10 Dinar). A big plus is that the hotel is located very near the Petra visitor center (3 minute walk). On one side of the hotel a small supermarket and the hotel on the other side has a nice bar where also alcohol is served. Can really recommend this hotel.

Pretty good value! The dinner buffet was really good and the menu changes everyday. It is a short walk to the entrance of Petra which was exactly what we were looking for. Only complaint is the noise of chairs being dragged across the floor early in the morning. Maybe from the restaurant? The staff were very nice and helpful. We also managed to park our car just in front of the hotel for free during the days while we were there.

The hotel cancelled our booking with 3 days notice due to a 'leak' at the property. I was skeptical about this but accepted the excuse and found somewhere else to stay. I then continued to see that the hotel was available for booking throughout the week that we were in Wadi Musa (except for the day we arrived it was booked out). It was clear to me that our booking was cancelled (we had a triple room) to allow the hotel to fill the triple room and make more money that way. So avoid unless you want to have to rearrange your whole stay with 3 days notice. Not the best introduction to Jordan but thankfully it got better after that. Im sure they will respond and say there was a leak — I went into the hotel on my way back from Petra and there was no sign of any leaks or works being done. When I asked reception if they had rooms available they said yes!
Also before I arrived I asked if they could arrange for us to have a lunch box instead of breakfast so that we can go to Petra early in the morning. It was a flat no from them. Seemingly putting a banana and some break in a bag is too much hassle. Thankfully the hotel we stayed in was able to do this and we had a great stay there, so it was all a blessing in disguise.

I was booked at the Petra Sunset Hotel by Exoticca Tours. The hotel is old and outdated and uncleaned. Pictures of this hotel are inaccurate and this is not a four-star hotel this is a one-star Hotel. I contacted my tour guide and informed him I could not stay here I have medical conditions and it is not an appropriate Hotel for me to stay in. Upon leaving to attend the night show Petra at night. The hotel manager stopped me to ask me what my problem was I informed him that the sheets were dingy and did not look clean and that in the restroom had rust in the shower and around the sink and inside the toilet there was mold. When I turned on the heater to heat my room the odor that came from there was unbearable it was not what you would normally have when you turn on a heater for the first time. I asked for a different room he said none were available and all room for the same. I said then I will have to sleep the next two nights in the lobby. I told him that I understand that breakfast and dinner is included but I would feel uncomfortable consuming any food at this hotel. I left the hotel and did my excursion Petra at night. The hotel manager contacted my tour guide and told him I insulted him and that I was not welcome at his hotel. When I return to retrieve my luggage he walked me to my room and did not allow me to take any pictures. Please be aware of this hotel.

Sun Set hotel is a very good choice in Petra. Very good value for money.

— really delicious food; recommendation also for buffet dinner +soft drinks & water — 10 JD/person.
3 star Sun Set hotel is very good in its 3 star category. I highly recommend it. I would stay again!

The hotel was excellent. The staff was very friendly and helpful. We have had some luck to have one of the more renovated rooms and it was magnificent. The room was very large and the bathroom was spacious and clean as well. We had a very nice stay here! The breakfast was very sufficient as well.
